As many of you know, we here at Fresh & Co. have been working with the terrific organization, Share Our Strength, to help bring an end to childhood hunger. This past Tuesday, the 21st, we were part of the TwEAT OUT in support of the Dine Out for No Kid Hungry. We were able to reach a myriad of people; from influencers in the food world like chefs and celebrities, to directly reaching out to restaurants themselves. We helped get a lot of attention, for an extremely important cause. We’d like to take a moment to say thanks to the great number of you who reached out on Twitter with us. As part of the #nokidhungry movement, we sent over 5,000 tweets and reached 40 MILLION impressions. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
To keep this alive, we here at Fresh & Co. are asking for your time with another effort, the Great American Bake Sale. Please consider this call to action. We are all busy, I get that. But this is a great opportunity to make this a group event in many ways. Whether it’s with your kids on a lazy summer day, or maybe it’s something bigger like a church or civic group you are in. Through the efforts of such programs like the Great American Bake Sale, Share Our Strength was able to provide more than 150 grants totaling more than $1.1 million across the country to help connect children with meals this summer.
Do it when you can. Do it where you can. Please consider participating in the Great American Bake Sale this summer. Sign up today. We can end childhood hunger by 2015.
